OWP points calculator

Calculate your Ontario Workforce Priority expression-of-interest score. This free OINP score calculator covers job-offer applicants in TEER 0–5 and self-employed physicians, with an explanation of every factor.

Checked October 17, 2026. Includes Ontario’s October 5 earnings change: up to 10 earnings-history points. The updated factors add up to 132 for job-offer applicants and 117 for self-employed physicians. Read Ontario’s dated update.

01 Your pathway and occupation

This calculates EOI ranking points. Employer, candidate and position eligibility are assessed separately.

Search the official occupation list, then select its five-digit code. Match your actual duties, not just a job title.

02 Work location and pay

Use the actual work location, not your home address or the employer’s head office. Mississauga is in Peel; Muskoka is Northern Ontario under this grid.

03 Ontario work experience
04 Earnings evidence and status

Use one qualifying year within the past five years. Do not combine tax years or substitute a current salary or T4 slip alone.

Legal eligibility and scoring are different. The tool does not automatically treat an expired permit or maintained status as a valid-permit points award.

05 Education

Use a qualifying Canadian credential or the Canadian equivalency on a valid ECA. A foreign credential title alone does not establish the points.

Each must be from an eligible Canadian institution and require at least one year of full-time study. Highest education and Canadian-credential points can both apply.

06 Language benchmarks

Use CLB for English and NCLC for French, separately for each ability. Have raw test scores? Convert them with the CLB converter.

Use results from one accepted test sitting, within two years and valid for your claim. Do not enter an overall average. No valid results means no test-based points for this language.

The OINP Workforce Priority points grid

Your result shows each award separately so you can check it against your evidence. The grid maximum is not a promise that every occupation can reach it. A high score cannot correct an ineligible job offer, employer or candidate.

Calculated maxima incorporating the October 2026 earnings update. Hourly-wage points do not apply to the self-employed physician pathway. Physicians applying with a job offer use the job-offer wage rules.

The older stream table still lists an 8-point earnings ceiling. This tool applies Ontario’s newer dated notice awarding 10 at $80,000 or more in one eligible year. See the full OINP points grid and scoring guide for the context.

Before you calculate

Have your job-offer NOC, work-location census division, guaranteed hourly wage, documented Ontario experience, eligible CRA earnings evidence, permit status, education and current language benchmarks ready. The tool leaves every question unanswered until you choose.

The NOC selector contains all 516 unit groups in Statistics Canada’s NOC 2021 Version 1.0. Selecting a real code determines its TEER and broad category. Use your duties to confirm the occupation. For raw test results, use our English and French CLB converter first.

Use the work location rather than your home address for regional points. Choose one experience route. Use one eligible tax year, with its CRA Notice of Assessment; do not add earnings from several years. The calculator does not verify documents or replace the application portal.

Questions about your score

OWP calculator FAQ

Is the OWP points calculator out of 130 or 132?

The original job-offer grid added up to 130. Ontario’s October 7, 2026 notice increased the earnings-history maximum from 8 to 10, effective October 5. Applying that update to the other published factors gives a calculated job-offer maximum of 132. Self-employed physicians cannot claim the 15 wage points, giving a calculated maximum of 117. The live portal and Ontario’s instructions govern your claim.

Is OWP the same as an open work permit?

Here OWP means Ontario Workforce Priority, an Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program stream. This tool calculates its provincial expression-of-interest ranking score. It does not assess open work permit eligibility, Express Entry CRS or the Federal Skilled Worker 67-point test.

Can I use this OINP score calculator for TEER 4 or 5?

Yes. Select your actual NOC code. The calculator awards zero under the TEER factor for TEER 4 or 5 and calculates the other factors from your answers. A score does not establish pathway eligibility.

Does a high score guarantee an OINP invitation?

No. This calculator does not set a pass mark or predict a draw cut-off. Ontario may select by occupation, region and other criteria. You must meet the applicable employer, position and candidate requirements and prove the points you claim.

Can I add both Ontario experience tables?

No. Choose the applicable route: current full-time experience in the offered position, or the general Ontario experience fallback when the offered-position experience is less than six months and you are currently working in Ontario. The tool uses only one table.

How are English and French scores calculated?

Enter all four CLB or NCLC levels from each current approved test. The tool uses the lowest ability within each language and then the stronger complete language result for proficiency points. Bilingual points require at least level 6 in every ability in both languages. It never averages abilities or combines the best abilities across English and French.

Why does my result show a range?

A range means a claim needs confirmation. Examples include exactly 24 months of physician experience, where Ontario’s wording overlaps, an uncertain experience route, or permit-status scoring under maintained status. Resolve the flagged factor before claiming points in the portal.

Are my calculator answers saved or sent to Immergity?

No. Calculation runs in your browser tab without submitting your answers. Reset clears the form. No account, contact details or document upload is required.

Plan your next OINP step

Employers can use the OINP Employer Portal guide to prepare the position submission. Candidates can read the TEER 4–5 pathway guide and dated OWP draw updates. Explore provincial nominee application support or OINP employer services for help with the evidence behind your claim.
